I am really enjoying developing my painting right now and I am challenging myself constantly in an attempt to capture on canvas some of the vitality that can be found in the sky, the air, the crashing sea and the salt wind in your face. I am greatly inspired by the Cornish coast and have been walking sections of the coast path whenever I get the chance to escape to West Cornwall. I also like to take my paints out and explore the vibrant landscapes surrounding me in Surrey.

I use mixed media, working responsively on canvas or board, typically using acrylic paint, but sometimes oil, allowing the image to evolve through palette knife, brush strokes, and the added dimension of pencil and collage.  

I am still running "The Drawing Room" with a fantastic group of artists who all produce inspiring figurative works each week. The energy of the sessions keep me going and provide a perfect balance to the discipline of my painting. My new beginners classes are great fun as well and it has been lovely to pass on some enthusiasm to these budding artists, who never cease to amaze me with what they can do!
