'Unleashing your Brushstrokes' workshop - 9th October

Thursday 9th October, 10am – 4pm, £85 per person              

Free your ideas, learn new painting techniques and loosen up. Focusing on brushwork, application of paint and colour, with reference to the Impressionists and Abstract Expressionists. Create a painting with life and vitality, inspired by nature, water or seascapes.

Learn to free up your painting style by exploring exciting brushmarks and painting techniques through a series of exploratory studies and exercises on paper, before creating a final painting. You may choose to work in an abstract style or take a more Impressionist direction. This process will help you simplify your composition and improve your understanding of mark-making, layering, tone and colour, using acrylics and mixed media.  Ideal for confident painters, but everyone with enthusiasm is welcome. It will be an exciting day with a small group of artists. 

Venue: The Fancy Loft, Farnham Pottery, Wrecclesham, Farnham GU10 4ND Please note, there is no wheelchair access and a small flight of stairs to access the loft. 

Materials and lunch are not provided. You will be sent a materials list and will be expected to bring a basic set of materials for the day including acrylics, brushes and a surface to paint on. Easels and boards are provided.
