Gestural Seascapes, 8th May

Thursday 8th May, 10am – 4pm, £85 per person

Let go of detail and enjoy painting using gestural and expressive marks. Work on a larger scale and learn how to simplify your composition and layer your brushmarks to create an expressive representation of the seascape.

This is a popular subject and I will share many tips and techniques, to help you discover the secrets of using different acrylic mediums to create varied brushstrokes, glazes and effects. Using a limited palette of Acrylics with mixed media you will gain confidence and progress from simplified studies on paper to a lively finished painting. My workshop includes a demonstration and most students can complete a painting on the day.  It will be an exciting and challenging day with a small group of artists. 

Suitable for all abilities, especially those wanting to loosen up with acrylics.

Venue: The Fancy Loft, Farnham Pottery, Wrecclesham, Farnham GU10 4ND Please note, there is no wheelchair access and a small flight of stairs to access the loft. 

Materials and lunch are not provided. You will be sent a materials list and will be expected to bring a basic set of materials for the day including acrylics, brushes and a surface to paint on. Easels and boards are provided. 

Food and drinks available to purchase from the excellent cafe on site, (with vegan/gluten-free options) or you are welcome to bring your own lunch and any refreshments for the day.
