Abstract Landscapes - Thursday 23rd April

Thursday 23rd April, 10am – 4pm, £85 per person              

A day of painting, exploring ideas, and loosening up your painting style, to embrace a more abstract interpretation of the landscape. We will be developing techniques to help simplify your composition and successfully utilise colour and tone to create harmony in your paintings. We will be painting with a limited palette of acrylics and exploring mixed media using collage, pastes and gels. 

Working through a series of simplified studies on paper will help you to free up your ideas before painting a final piece. You will improve your understanding of mark-making, layering, tone and composition. You can use the workshop as a chance to purely experiment or work towards creating a finished abstract painting. 

Great for all abilities. An exciting and challenging day with a small group of artists. Limited places.

Venue: The Fancy Loft, Farnham Pottery, Wrecclesham, Farnham GU10 4ND Please note: there is no wheelchair access and a small flight of stairs to access the loft. 

Materials and lunch are not provided, but there is a lovely on-site cafe where you can buy food (with vegetarian/vegan options). You will be sent a suggested materials list and need to bring a basic set of materials for the day. Easels and boards are provided.
